You may be familiar with the two basic kinds of kitchen cabinets. Wall units or wall cabinets hang on walls. Tip - Install your base cabinet units above the floor just high enough to allow flooring under them. Installing a 3/4" spacer may leave this desired affect.

Two Cabinet Construction Styles
The cabinet construction consists of a frame portion providing door and drawer openings. There is a second method called European or frame-less cabinets. The frame less cabinet style gives more of a contemporary appearance to a new kitchen. Face-framed cabinets leave an impact of a traditional look. Your cabinet construction style may vary the below installation quick tip height.

Cabinet Installation Heights
The countertop surface is usually 36" off the floor.
Wall units are installed about 18" above the countertop. This 18" is the distance that accommodates items such as blenders, coffee makers, mixers, and toasters. It also keeps the top shelf with in reach (Under six feet from the floor).

The usual overall height of kitchen wall cabinets is 7' 0".

Wall Cabinet Installation Quick Tip:
Build temporary supports around 8 1/2". Verify this distance fits between the front and back under your wall cabinet. This distance may be increased if your countertop is not installed. Determine your total height and size the height of your spacers accordingly. 18" may be this height pending on your cabinet style. Place these under the wall cabinets to aid in your wall cabinet installation.
