Best Techniques for BuyingAppliances from New Appliance Dealers

A common mistake appliance buyers make is assuming an appliance warehouse has the best bargains. The advertising is catchy - still often the warehouse "guaranteed low pricing" is advertising that must be paid for. My wife and I recently found the warehouse pricing for appliances to be 15 % higher than the local home improvement stores. The warranty with the local home improvement stores was much better than the "Guaranteed Low Pricing or Its Free" slogan that the factory appliance outlet store was promoting.

Smaller Appliance Dealers Work Together!
Smaller appliance dealers must have to pay more for appliances and will have higher pricing- Right? This is NOT true! The smaller dealers usually pool funds together with other smaller appliance dealers. What the dealers refer to as "pooling resources together" allows them to buy bigger volumes at discounted rates.

Warranty Information For Your New Appliances
As I mentioned the warranty was much better for this recent appliance buyer with the local home improvement store than the appliance factory outlet. We asked about the extent of the warranty asking questions a professional in the industry recommended. The questions were the following two questions. Does the warranty include labor? Will the warranty be honored by another dealer. The second question applies especially to those who are considering moving.

Verify Appliance Installation Requirements
Another tip which may save you a few dollars is to verify the installation requirements of the appliances you will be purchasing. Each appliance has its own installation requirements. A gas oven needs a gas line where the oven style will be modified from gas to electric. Keep in mind that for upgrading to larger model appliances you may need to increase the size of yourelectrical circuit . A refrigerator with an ice maker - Requires a water line! Refrigerators will not make ice if you just plug it in! If your basement is finished off - and you want to convert from a gas oven to electric or from a electric oven to gas - VERIFY you can do this! Money talks the saying goes - anything can be done for the right dollar. Just be sure to include for these items (Converting to electric, to gas, or adding a water line) if they are needed into your budgeting.

"What's Included?"
If the appliances your are purchasing require professional installation asking "What's Included?" may be the Christmas bonus question of the month. Your question may be this - "Is the installation included in the purchase price?" Of lesser value which may still equal half a days wage - "Is delivery included?" For you handymen there is a third bonus question. If you are planning on installing the appliances yourself and the delivery was included verify if you can receive a credit for these charges. Your could be phrased "Is a refund possible for these charges if I install the appliances?"

Fit Appliances To Your Households Needs
List the items that are most important to you in your new kitchen. Do not settle for something less than the desired selection. List the most important items for your kitchen first. Separate essential items from your "deluxe" items. When possible - retain a few "deluxe" items on your list to enhance your new kitchen. You will have invested a lot of dollars into your new kitchen and including these items ensures a little satisfaction when displaying the new kitchen to friends and relatives. Of course - Remember the most important element - "You!"
