Kitchen Triangles - Math Lesson on Kitchen Triangle Length New Kitchen Planning and Design Layout Is adding 2' extra feet to a new kitchen's layout no big deal? I will repeat this question at the end of this post. Please Comment! 26' is often stated to be the max length desired for a kitchen's triangle's length. Another source stated 24' to be the max length for a kitchen's triangle. Modern kitchen's with multiple cooks may have other factors which apply to make this standard kitchen triangle length not applicable. - Understand - a kitchen's triangle is very important! Why? Perhaps a math lesson may help us understand why an efficient kitchen triangle is important. 26' versus 24' = 2' You can substitute your own number here - my wife averages 500 times a day pacing the kitchen's triangle. 2' x 500 = 1000 feet per day 1000 feet per day x 365 days of the year = 365,000 feet per year! I am told 72 - 76 years is the current average number of years people live. Going with the lower number - 72 x 365,000 = 26,280,000 million extra feet walked with only two extra feet added to the total kitchen triangle length in one person's life time! Looking at the bright side of things - It is only 4, 978 extra miles! Does this help to visualize why an efficient kitchen layout is important? What if the kitchen triangle layout length added 10 extra feet? - You Will Get Your Exercise! - Kitchen Triangles - Math Lesson on Kitchen Triangle Length New Kitchen Planning and Design Layout Is adding 2' extra feet to a new kitchen's layout no big deal? |
