How do I know how high to hang up a picture on my wall?

My sister took our family pictures and i am hanging the pictures in our hallway by the kitchen.

Magic Formula:

1 Measure up Sixty Inches from floor
2 Add one half the height of picture
3 Subtract the height of the wire or the height of triangle the wire will form if
actually hanging in place.

This is the distance from the floor at which your picture hook should go regardless of the
height of the ceiling or your height.

Usually I just browse this site, but decided to sign up and join the fun here. Just wanted to comment that we had our doubts about handing pictures with this method, but have used it to hand pictures in our boys room, the basement, and for a large picture in our living room and every time the height does seem right!
