Finding a good remodeler is perhaps the best advice I can give.
They are few and far between as remodeling companies who when they become good at HomeRemodeling then turn to home building or bigger projects very often as there is less stress involved and home owners are not as difficult to deal with.

Home Remodeling takes careful considerations before starting the remodel project.
What items are there to consider before remodeling a home? Usually this is left the home builder or remodeling contractor. They have check lists covering each detail of the remodeling project which they over before the basement, attic, or total renovation or remodel project even starts.

Home Remodeling also entails planning WHEN to schedule the Remodel project. If you are in a hurry to have the work done, often WAITING or scheduling the owrk after your main event is a good idea. Otherwise - planning and scheduling the HomeRemodeling to happen well in advance may also be a very wise thing to consider. Remodeling Check Lists

Finding a good remodeler really is the key.

As mentioned Finding the remodeler who is good can be difficult as mentioned homeremodeling does have intense pressure on the remodeling builder.

Home Building or HomeRemodeling? Who would take the stress, dirt, and often pushy home owners versus a new construction or new home building project? You would have to be crazy to take the remodeling rout, unless the remodeler has good home owners to work with. Even then knowing how to deal with the problems and stating that problems will happen during the home remodel from before the remodel project starts is very important.

I think if home owners understand how much work it is to pull off remodeling smoothly they would appreciate the homeremodel contractor they chose at a much higher level.

Remodeling Investments with the Best Returns when considering what to remodel.

Home owners can do a few items themselves which offer the best return on the homeremodel investment.

What are the Top Three Items a homeowner can do for the best return?

DIY May Be Able To Do

Add Fresh Paint
Home Organizing (Clutter Removal)
Addition of Shelving Units in Storage Areas

That is my quick home DIY list. What do others think?

When Remodeling a Home for Resale Value to Increase I have heard these three are key.
Do you agree?

Siding Replacement
New Roof (Shingles Replacement)
Kitchen Remodel

There are so many things to consider, and this may vary area to area pending on where the home is that is to be remodeled. If your home you are remodeling a cottage in Michigan what you are to remodel will in fact be much different than an investment on a sky rise in Chicago Illinois.

What are the Best HomeRemodel Investments?
As mentioned keeping things Simple is often in the homeowners best interest.

Minor Kitchen Remodel
Minor Bathroom Remodeling
HomeRemodel of the Attic to a Bedroom Remodel
A bath addition really is a minor project also when you think about it but is perhaps the least minor of the items mentioned. Bathroom Addition (A one bath home adding a half bath or a full bathroom)

Home Remodeling should not really be for the resale investment. If you are considering remodeling your home it should be about You. Find what is best for Your needs. Often days turn into years and the homeremodel that was to be for selling the home ended up being the home lived in for 6 to 7 years if not 10 years. Plan for selling the home if you remodel, but also first and most important plan for yourself!
