We are considering Roofing our home. We may be selling our house soon if we build. Is it a good Idea to a a new roof to homes before selling them? Can we get our investment back or is it better to sell the Home with the roof as it is?

Roofs are a great idea when selling a home.
Ask yourself. Would you buy a old looking home or one with a new roof on it?
Adding a Roof to a home is one of the best ways to add resale value to a house.
Do find the right roofer for the work. Some big name bigshots think they can push quality and I am the best roofing contractor cause I say so and over price home owners. Get three or four estimates and make sure you guys get the best contractor now o.k.

My parents had quotes for a new roof be around 12,000!
Another company quoted $7 and a smaller builder / roofer did the work for just under $4000. You also hear the horror stories so be sure to do back ground checks on the roofer you choose. Going to the jobsite and looking at how he does the work may also be a good idea. My parents knew the roofer. I hooked up with the builder/ roofer and am now doing a bit of roofing on my own too. But yeah- you don't need to pay the most to get the best quality. Just hire the right one.

New Roofs are a great idea for adding resale value for a home.

Good idea.
Price around and be sure to do back ground checks on the roofers you are considering hiring. Sometimes paying a little more for a good quality roofer is a good idea. Other times you can find a younger builder who does good roofing for a good dollar amount.
Price around and add the new roof Just before you intend to sell the home if the roof condition allows.

Do remember that landscaping does get smashed usually so spring and fall are good times to add a new roof to a home.
